Brock Harrison is an Associate in the Real Estate group. His practice focuses on commercial acquisitions, environmental due diligence, and natural-resources permitting, with a concentration in the quarry and aggregates industry — a niche he came to through his undergraduate training in geology rather than through the usual law-school-to-real-estate track. He drafts purchase and sale agreements, coordinates Phase I and Phase II ESA review, and handles DEEP permit applications for extraction and processing operations.
Harrison earned his J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2020 and his B.S. in Geology from the University of Connecticut in 2017. He joined Oak, Elm & Birch in 2021. Within the firm he collaborates with Non-Equity Partner Archie Donovan on contaminated-site transactions and serves as the Real Estate group's principal drafter on natural-resources-permitting matters.
## Beyond the Firm
Before law school, Harrison spent two summers working for the Connecticut Geological Survey mapping surficial materials in the northwest corner of the state — work he credits with giving him enough field-geology literacy to read the consultants' reports his clients pay for without needing a translator. He still carries a Brunton compass in his briefcase more often than he admits. He is a member of the American Institute of Professional Geologists (affiliate grade) and the Connecticut Bar Association.
## Board Service
Harrison serves as a volunteer natural-resources consultant to the Hartland Land Trust, where he assists on property-boundary and groundwater-protection questions.
