Oak, Elm & Birch LLP

Practice Areas

The firm is organized into six practice groups. Each group is led by an equity partner and staffed by attorneys who have chosen that discipline as the center of their careers. We were built in Hartford and have kept our practice anchored here for more than fifty years, which means our corporate, real estate, and trusts & estates lawyers are not generalists rotating through the department — they know the Connecticut courts, regulators, and counterparties they deal with on a first-name basis.

Most client engagements draw on more than one group. A family-owned manufacturer selling to private equity will pull in Corporate, Tax, Labor & Employment, and often Real Estate in the same week. We staff matters accordingly.

Corporate & M&A

Middle-market mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and technology licensing for closely-held Connecticut businesses and Hartford-based insurance and energy companies. Practice led by Managing Partner Steven Stone.
