Alistair Pennington Joins Oak, Elm & Birch as Corporate Partner

HARTFORD, CT — September 15, 2020 — Oak, Elm & Birch LLP announced today that Alistair J. Pennington has joined the firm as a partner in its Corporate practice, effective September 14. Pennington arrives from Pullman & Comley, where he spent twelve years advising middle-market manufacturers, insurance holding companies, and closely-held businesses on mergers, acquisitions, and growth-stage financings.

Pennington will work closely with Managing Partner Steven Stone and equity partner Giovanni Marchetti on the firm's M&A pipeline, with particular focus on Connecticut and Western Massachusetts transactions in the $20 million to $150 million range. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.

"Alistair knows this market in a way very few lawyers his age do," said Steven Stone, Managing Partner. "He has closed more middle-market deals in Connecticut in the last five years than most partners close in a career, and he brings a roster of clients who have followed him through two firms. That kind of continutiy is rare."

Pennington earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 2006 and his A.B. from Colgate University in 2001. He serves on the board of the Hartford Chamber of Commerce and lives in West Hartford with his wife and two children.

The hire is the firm's third lateral partner addition since 2018 and brings the Corporate practice to eight partners and twelve attorneys overall.
